The convention is over, and I have to say it was the most enjoyable one I've experienced, as an artist and as an attendee. The set up for the Artist Colony, Dealer's Room, Online Web Media and Guest stars was perfect; instead of closing everything off from one another it was open and ran together smoothly where it didn't even feel like separate venues.
I did alright at my own table this year. I'm still figuring out my pricing but I think next year, which will likely be my final year at CTcon due to the cost of attending, will be more successful. It's been an excellent experience in selling art and has given me a lot more confidence in speaking to people, being as awkward and uncomfortable I am when it comes to interacting with people. Definitely something to give a stab at if you are considering a career in art.
A few days before the convention I had to make a trip to Boston to submit my application for a Visa. If all goes well, I'll be set to study abroad in Italy this Fall semester.

I miss having a live model.
I REALLY MISS HAVING A LIVE MODEL.
My first oil paintings ever were with a live model in a pre-college course and thinking back to then, it felt so much more natural. I really don't like working from photographs because my mind will easily wonder and I start messing with it and I change it into something else and this is just frustrating because there is no way I can just find someone willing to sit/stand for, like, 2 hours a day for a week without pay. Much less anyone who would have the time.
I wish I could revisit that ease that came with just learning how to paint. The teacher didn't give us any direct expla
I should really update...
Hello guys....
I'm hoping to have up a few new things in the next week or so but in the mean time, I'd like to let whomever is interested know that I've dropped the price for Magnum Opus and Of the Sea. It's now $6 not including shipping and you can get it here: http://www.lulu.com/shop/allison-cleghorn/magnum-opus-and-of-the-sea/paperback/product-16963413.html.
College life: Damn, can't believe how much work I've been having lately...Figure drawing is an probably always will be one of my favorite classes though. ESPECIALLY when we use charcoal =D
We're going to Boston this weekend for Art History so that will be fun. I love sketching Gree
Artist Colony 2013, already.
Well, I've just gotten myself registered for Connecticon Artist Colony 2013. I must have a fascination with the number 4 because I chose it again without even thinking. I'm still looking for someone willing to share a $250 booth...preferably someone I know. xD
So I've been back at school for a week. I have to say I'm happy to be back. There are so many things that are different though, from people, to the way things are being run. Not sure if I like that so much but there isn't much I can do to change that.
I didn't get the chance to finish the next chapter of Magnum Opus but it's getting there. I'm still trying to feel out my free time/ ho
Heeey guuuys
Taking advantage of free premium membership day =D
School is coming up fast so I've been running around trying to get as much done as I can before going back. Outside of being lazy of course....
The next part of Magnum Opus is finally getting done. I've got 20 pages of drafts done and hope to get it at least half of that online before September. I've taken a lot of the advice I've recieved about it to mind and am eager to see what you all think as I push this story along =)
