The convention is over, and I have to say it was the most enjoyable one I've experienced, as an artist and as an attendee. The set up for the Artist Colony, Dealer's Room, Online Web Media and Guest stars was perfect; instead of closing everything off from one another it was open and ran together smoothly where it didn't even feel like separate venues. I did alright at my own table this year. I'm still figuring out my pricing but I think next year, which will likely be my final year at CTcon due to the cost of attending, will be more successful. I miss having a live model. I REALLY MISS HAVING A LIVE MODEL. My first oil paintings ever were with a live model in a pre-college course and thinking back to then, it felt so much more natural. I really don't like working from photographs because my mind will easily wonder and I start messing with it and I change it into something else and this is just frustrating because there is no way I can just find someone willing to sit/stand for, like, 2 hours a day for a week without pay.
